*Almost Famous- Makes me wish I lived during that time period. The music was great, everything didn't have to be so politically correct, and people weren't so damn uptight.
*Major League- Possibly one of the greatest sports movies ever made. I know people are going to say how "Rudy" was so inspirational, or "The Natural" and "Field of Dreams" were wonderful. I don't care. Give me Sorano and Willy Mays Hayes any day of the week over that.
*Dazed and Confused- A great comedy with many people that are major movie stars now. Just like "Almost Famous", it makes me wish I grew up in a different decade.
*Rocky IV- Call the movie stupid all you want, if it is ever on television and I see it I HAVE to finish it. You could cut the Cold War tension with a knife in this movie. Sure the earlier ones, and some may claim the newest one, may be better, but Rocky IV was the first true "action" movie of them all.
*Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart, Universal Soldier- You gotta have some JCVD (also a good movie) in there. I guess you could consider these another guilty pleasure of mine. Totally predictable, and I love every minute of them.
*To Kill a Mockingbird- One of my favorite books of all-time, and the movie might even top the book. Gregory Peck's "Atticus Finch" is one of the best portrayals of a character from a novel on the silver screen. Ever.
*The Prestige- One of a handful of movies that every time I watch it I pick up on something I didn't get or see the first time. This movie only gets better with each viewing. Came out of the theatre scratching my head, but in a good way.
*The Goonies, The Sandlot- Timeless classics for anybody in their 20's. Enough said.
*Little Miss Sunshine- A modern comedy classic. A weird little girl doing a striptease to Rick James's "Superfreak" is definitely a strange/hysterical moment.
*Big Trouble in Little China- One of the best "it's so cheesy it's amazing" movies ever made.
*Garden State- Fell in love with this movie while the first time I saw it in college. I can definitely relate to a lot of the "off the wall" characters portrayed in the small town in which the movie takes place. Also has a great soundtrack.
*The Crow- Brandon Lee's last movie is a great action/horror/noir movie. Definitely not your typical action movie. And all the sequels suck (just like the Kickboxer ones). Another good soundtrack.
*Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves- I know I'll get flack for this one, but for some reason I watched it over and over growing up, and now I love it. Just like Rocky IV, if I see this on television I will watch it till it's over.
--There are many more movies I love, and many more movies out there that are better, but these were just a few off the top of my head. There are plenty of classic movies out there (i.e. The Godfather, Chinatown, etc.) that I like, but they are on every "My Favorite Movies List" you'll find on the internet.
